My Professional Journey
Dr. Divya Kannan is a Clinical Psychologist and an expert mental health consultant for organisations and individuals, and is based in Bangalore, with a Ph.D. and post-doctoral training from the United States and over 15 years of experience in psychotherapy and mental health. A former faculty member and lead psychologist at Vanderbilt University (2012–2017), she has her psychotherapy practice at the Evolve clinic, and also partners with corporates, start-ups, and NGOs across India to design and deliver employee mental health programmes and well-being strategy.
At Evovle, Dr. Kannan works with adults navigating emotional challenges, anxiety, professional challenges, postpartum concerns, PTSD, and more. Her approach is grounded in integrative approaches, emotion-focused therapy, and evidence-based clinical practice. Trained in the USA, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Memphis, went on to do her Post-doctoral training at Vanderbilt University and served as Clinical Assistant Director in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the Vanderbilt Counseling Center. Dr. Kannan has published widely on psychotherapy, contributing to international conversations on mental health.
Whether working with individuals or institutions, Dr. Kannan’s work is guided by evidence, empathy, and the belief that both people and workplaces can thrive when mental health is given the care and attention it deserves.
